Relationship with dreams

Dreams are the biggest and adventurous destinations of your life. First, you create them. Then, you turn them in reality. Finally, you live them. I have heard that our dreams are related to our lives in one or the other ways. Either they remind us of the past memories or indicates about the future plans. Or simply mirrors the present time for our satisfaction.  I have also watched the series of soap opera which tells that dreams are the inseparable part of our life. Lots of myth and superstition is attached to the dreams. Something that we witness while our eyes are closed, means sleeping.  What I feel is that we can only witness something when we can view it or when we are in our conscious minds. So how can we witness something, when our body and mind are in the process of relaxation or not working almost.  Don't take it otherwise, I don't want to deny the existence of dreams.
